Jemima Juggling Jelly-beans on the Jetty

Having begun to lay out the format of all the books planned, I decided to continue with further introductions.

I know that one of Hiccup’s favourite stories is the one with Jemima.

Hiccup did manage to get rather ‘mucky’ when he was with Ivan so he asked Ivan if he could get clean; which is when Ivan suggested taking Hiccup down to the beach to clean himself in the sea.

‘It was really amazing, Papa.’ Which was Hiccup’s reaction to his time with Jemima and also he found out that some magical things can happen too.

I told Hiccup how proud of him I was, to rush to help Jemima as he did.

I know that I complain about him a lot; and he really does drive me to total distraction sometimes. It happens when I am drawing usually, and then I forget what I had been doing. Often I make little errors (and unlike the computer, my drawing pad and pencils don’t have ‘undo’ buttons), and have to reprimand Hiccup; and then I feel awful about that as he is only doing it from sheer excitement at having stories written about him.

I really do understand, and he is my best ‘pal’. When I think of the number of times I have to pick him up, pose him and draw him; he has every reason to be cross with me. But he is never really cross except when I forget things . . . . which is often!

Anyway I am attaching the picture of Jemima, drawn for the original book, and from which came the idea for the story which I hope gets printed soon.

‘You know the first (Harry) story which has been printed, Papa?’

‘Yes!’ I can see where this is headed.

‘When is the ‘Ivan’ book going to be ready Papa?’

‘I don’t have the answer yet to that.  I do hope it will be soon, and the whole series of books will be available for sale too. Wouldn’t that be amazing Hiccup?’

‘Oh do hurry up Papa.’

‘Please’.

Hiccup nearly forgot the magic word please.
