LULWORTH AND HIS LIQUORICE LABORATORY

‘I love liquorice, Papa.’

It’s that voice again.

‘Oh good morning, Hiccup. ‘Now what is this about you loving liquorice?’ I was hoping to find out what was motivating the little teddy-bear to suddenly come up with this statement.

‘Well you know I do.’ He continued. ‘Don’t you remember? I had that fantastic time with Lulworth Bear in his liquorice laboratory at Lulworth Cove.’

Of course I was teasing him. How could I forget his misadventures with Lulworth Bear.

The good thing about him reminding me is that it has prompted me to show you all the illustration of Lulworth Bear among the things beginning with ‘L’ in the picture.

One little thing I will tell you is that although the story is set by the sea in Dorset, Lulworth’s name at that time was Leo. It was only whilst illustrating the book that it dawned on me (sorry Hiccup) that Lulworth would be a good name for the teddy-bear.

So here is Lulworth on the cliff top in the original drawing and he appears in his Liquorice Laboratory at Lulworth in the story book which (I hope) will be published before long.

That little nudge again.

‘Papa, don’t forget to explain about the pictures children can download (is that the right word?) and colour in from your children’s page on your blog thing.’

Here it is:

‘I’m not good at colouring Papa, I think I will let you do that!’

Oh thank you Hiccup, I am glad I am good for something.

Austin Macauley also launched the colouring pages for a competition, though it’s over now, but you can still download the pictures.
